Highlanders Fall to #9 JMU, 3-0 Harrisonburg, Va. Radford University fell to ninth-ranked James Madison University, 3-0 in field hockey action Wedensday night at Bridgeforth Stadium. Three different players scored for the Dukes as they improve to 13-6, while the Highlanders fall to 7-9. JMU would take a 2-0 lead after just 10 minutes of play. Elize van Ballegooie scored first on a penalty corner at 4:16 from Dana Weaver and Amy Cordes. Carrie Phillips would tally the second Duke goal at 9:39, putting home a rebound. James Madison would close out the scoring at 57:36 on a penalty stroke from Veerle Goudswaard. Junior Tina Caiazza (Fairfax, Va./Chantilly) had a strong game in net for the Highlanders, making 11 saves. JMU's Kiernan Raffo and Lori Amico shared the shutout, with Amico making the only save. The Highlanders close out their regular season on Sunday, Nov. 3 when they face 15th-ranked Boston College at Bridgeforth Stadium.
