Highlanders Blank Villanova, 1-0

Durham, N.C. - Senior Becky Glynn's (Frenchtown, N.J./Delaware Valley) goal at 22:16 was all Radford University (5-7) needed as they defeated Villanova (7-7) in field hockey action from Duke University this afternoon. It was Glynn's first goal of the season and gave the Highlanders their first back-to-back wins this year.

RU keeper junior TIna Caiazza (Fairfax, Va./Chantilly) and sophomore back Angela Feindt (Hartwood, Va./Stafford) played key roles in the victory as well. Caizza stopped six Wildcat shots including a penalty stroke. Feindt kept the ball out of the cage twice making a pair of defensive saves.

Radford was outshot 23-6 and outcornered 17-4 by Villanova.

The Highlanders return a week from today when they go back to Durham and face the 12th-ranked Duke Blue Devils at 2 p.m. on Oct. 20.
