Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Certificate

The TESOL Certificate was developed as a practical response to conversations with teachers, and is designed to be beneficial to every classroom teacher—no matter what grade or content area. The 3 course TESOL sequence of classes is intended to provide insight and information to assist teachers with the day-to-day challenges of teaching in today’s diverse classrooms. Teachers will learn practical instructional techniques, assessment principles and curriculum design strategies that they can incorporate into the classroom.

Course Sequence:
EDLI 603. English as a Second Language (ESL): Analysis and Application of Instructional Techniques (3)
EDLI 604. Second Language Assessment Principles (3)
EDLI 605. Second Language Curriculum Design (3)

In most instances, the sequence will begin in the fall semester and conclude in the following summer session.
