The College Republicans promote the line of thought as set down in the platform of the Republican National Committee and provide the organizational framework to help elect Republicans to public office.

Green Team
The purpose of this organization is to raise environmental awareness among RU students, faculty and staff. e-mail

NAACP at Radford University
The purpose of this organization is to improve the political, educational, social and economic status of minority groups; to eliminate racial prejudice; and to keep the public aware of the adverse effects of racial discrimination. In addition, its objectives shall be to inform students of the problems affecting the economic, educational, social, and political status of black people and other minority groups and their harmonious cooperation with other people. e-mail

Operation Smile
Operation Smile is a private, not-for-profit volunteer medical services organization providing reconstructive surgery and related health care to indigent children and young adults in developing countries and the United States. Operation Smile provides education and training around the world to physicians and other health professionals to achieve long-term self-sufficiency, by creating international partnerships. Operation Smile builds trust, bridges cultures and bestows dignity at home and abroad.

Peer Educators
Students play a uniquely effective role - unmatched by professional educators - in encouraging their peers to consider, talk honestly about, and develop responsible habits and attitudes toward the use or non-use of alcohol and other student health and safety issues, including sexual assault, impaired driving, sexual responsibility, and tobacco prevention. We support those students in the majority who are making responsible decisions in regards to their health. Peer Educators is advised by the Substance Abuse and Sexual Assault Educator, and is funded by student activity fees. At RU, Peer Educators events include: Take Back the Night, Clothesline Project, Alcohol Awareness Week, Great American Smokeout, Sexual Responsibility Week, Safe Spring Break and Friday Night Dry. e-mail Spectrum
Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Transgender, Identity Questioning, and Straight Ally Activist Club. Spectrum is an organization that welcomes all in the fight for freedom. Together, members work to bring positive change to the Radford University campus by dispelling myths and minimizing prejudice, thus striving to create a campus environment that is label-absent and free of ignorance. e-mail

Women's Studies Club
The Women's Studies Club is an organization dedicated to promoting awareness of women's issues on campus. This organization is open to men and women concerned about the equality of all people. The organization sponsors a number of cultural and educational activities, such as Women's Month.

Young Democrats
The purpose of this organization shall be: to stimulate in young people an active interest in governmental affairs, to increase the efficiency of popular government, to foster and perpetuate the ideas and principals of the democratic party, to recruit new members for the democratic party and democratic candidates, to help acquaint voters with the issues and candidates and to provide for our people through its administration the highest degree of justice, social welfare and happiness.
