Radford University Spring Commencement
Graduate Degree Graduation Requirements

Just as we expect undergraduate students to take responsibility for their graduation requirements, Master's Degree students must maintain this requirement as well. Graduation requirements are the responsibility of the student.  You have at your disposal the online University catalog, your Program of Study, and faculty advisors with which to advise you throughout your career here at Radford University.

Each Master's Degree program requires a different amount of credit hours in order to complete a degree through Radford University.  Some concentrations within each degree differ as to the amount of credit hours required as well.  Some degree programs change year-over-year in order to remain up-to-date with current standards.  It is the student's responsibility to ensure that any changes made to the program have been submitted on the correct form to the Graduate College.

Minimum Graduation Requirements:

  • 3.00 minimum overall grade point average
  • 3.00 minimum in-major grade point average
  • A maximum of one-third of the total graduate hours in a program of study may be transferred from another RU program or an outside institution (some programs have more stringent requirements)
  • Any Radford Graduate catalog may be used to meet graduation requirements, between enrollment and graduation, as long as it is no more than six years old at the time of a student's graduation from the University
