Undergraduate Catalog and Curriculum Review Committee

Minutes October 7, 2003

Members present:         H. Terry, Dr. S. Van Patton, C. Hines, K. Mullet, Dr. D. Davidson, and T. Thomas (GA)

I.                    Election of Chair

a.       Heidi Terry was re-elected Chairperson of the UGCCRC for the 2003-2004 academic year.

II.                 Distribution and review of catalog production schedule for the 2004-2005 Undergraduate Catalog.

III.               Distribution and review of procedures and duties of the committee.

IV.              Other Business

a.       Contacting Matt Crisp to help generate student involvement in committee

b.      Duties of Graduate Assistant for committee

c.       Discussion of different methods and strategies for noticing potential concerns in proposals, potential flag areas of proposals

d.      Discussed requirements for weekly meetings, at least 8 proposals and for meetings to last approximately an hour.  Leftover proposals from meetings will be rolled over to the following weeks meeting.

e.       Discussion of registrar’s office in Course Syllabi modifications

f.        Able to invite department members to attend meetings if necessary for clarification purposes, can also send a representative for a college if committee member if unable to attend, but not necessary.  Emailing concerns to either Heidi Terry or Tiffany Thomas will be sufficient.

g.       Requesting of Fall and Spring schedules from committee members in hopes of finding a universal meeting time for the entire academic year.

h.       Dr. Daniel Davidson designated himself as the “loose cannon” of the committee.
