I. Approval of October 30 and November 6 minutes
II. Reviewed Proposals
1. THEA.01 – Course Deletion: Drop THEA 103 - Introduction to Media Arts Technology (3 credits) – Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
2. THEA.02 & THEA.03 – Syllabus changes only for Theatre 135 and Theatre 331
a. Discussion: The Committee determined that it does not need to review syllabi changes. A memo will be sent out to each of the chairs of the departments saying syllabi revisions do not need to be endorsed by the UGCCR Committee, however, the original proposal (no copies necessary) needs forwarded to the Office of the Registrar.
b. Syllabus changes to Theatre 135 and Theatre 331 supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
1. AFBL*.01 – Program Revision: Move INSY 181 from Business core to
required courses; and Remove MGNT 460 from Business core, but leave it as a management course. Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
1. ECON.01 – Major Change: Adding a BBA in Economics.
a. Discussion
1. Proposal tabled due to committees concerns that it needs to be endorsed by SCHEV.
2. Registrar’s Office will review the SCHEV website to see whether or not a BBA in Economics would be classified as a new degree program which would require a new CIP Code.
2. ECON.02 – Course Prerequisite Change: remove ECON 330
as a prerequisite to Economics 443. Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
3. ECON.03 – Course Number Change: Renumber ECON 407 to
ECON 307. Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
4. ECON.04 – Program Revision - To revise the International Option in
Economics in both the B.A. and B.S. degrees. Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
5. ECON.05 – Program Revision - To reduce the Economics Core in both the B.A. and B.S. from 30 hours to 21 hours. Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
6. ECON.06 – Program Revision: To revise the Managerial option in
Economics in both the B.A. and B.S. degrees. Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
1. DNCE.01 – Catalog Description Revision: Change descriptions for the Ballet Concentration, see proposal. Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
2. DNCE.02 – Catalog Description Revision, Course Prerequisite Change: Change the catalog description revision for DNCE 205 by changing the total number semester hours of DNCE 205 from six to eight hours. Also, delete course prerequisite. Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
3. DNCE.03 – Course Prerequisite Change: Delete prerequisite of “two semesters of DNCE 205 and/or permission of instructor” and add DNCE 305. Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
4. DNCE.04 – Course Title & Prerequisite Change: Change title of DNCE 401 from “POINTE TECHNIQUE - 2 cr” to “ADVANCED POINTE TECHNIQUE - 2 cr”, and delete prerequisite of “Two years of ballet training and permission of instructor.” Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
5. DNCE.05 – Catalog Description Revision & Course Prerequisite Change For DNCE 405: Delete Prerequisite, and change “May be taken for a total of twelve semester hours of credit” to “May be taken for a total of twenty-four semester hours of credit. Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
6. DNCE.06 – Catalog & Program Revision: Revision to the BFA Contemporary Concentration. Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
7. DNCE.07 – Course Prerequisite Change: Delete Prerequisite from DNCE 231. Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
8. DNCE.08 – Course Prerequisite Change: Delete Prerequisite from DNCE 280. Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
9. DNCE.09 – Catalog Description Revision & Prerequisite Change: Delete Prerequisite for DNCE 331 and change “may be taken for a total of twelve semester hours of credit” to “may be taken for a total of eighteen semester hours of credit.” Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
10. DNCE.10 – Course Prerequisite Change: Delete Pre &Co-Requisites from DNCE 350 description. Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
11. DNCE.11 – Catalog Description Revision, Course Title Change, and Course Prerequisite Change: Make appropriate changes to DNCE 400, see proposal. Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
12. DNCE.12 – New Course Proposal: DNCE 201 – Intermediate Pointe Technique. Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
1. ART.01 – Catalog Revision: More detailed and thorough catalog description provided for the BFA Requirements, see proposal. Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
2. ART.02 – New Course Proposal: Art 371, Three Dimensional Computer Art. Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
1. MUSC.01 – Course Deletion(s): Delete MUSC 319, 247:248, 444, 474:475. Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
2. MUSC.02 – Course Deletion(s): Delete MUSC 320, 442, 443, 447, 448. Proposal supported by UGCCRC and forwarded to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.
