The Radford Redcoats equestrian team has a long history at the university. The riding team was the first sport to be offered by the school in 1938. Today the Redcoats are a Sport Club comprised of approximately 20 members, about half of whom compete at intercollegiate horse shows. Radford competes in one of the toughest regions in the country, comprised of Randolph-Macon Women's College, Hollins University, Washington & Lee University, the University of Virginia, Bridgewater College, Lynchburg College, Longwood University, and James Madison University. Our goal is to represent our university as best we can through equestrian competition, community service, and other group activities.
