| 1) Why is my degree audit wrong?

1) Over the years, Media Studies curriculum has changed. Degree audits may be based on old requirements, not the ones you'll be held to. To clear up any confusion, print out your ACADEMIC HISTORY. Then go here and print out the check sheets for your major from your calendar year. Fill out the check sheet and you will see how far you are in the program. |
2) Which check sheet should I use? |
2) You may use any check sheet from the year you entered Radford up to the present. As long as you aren't using requirements older than 5 years.
For example: If you entered Radford in Fall 2000. You can use a check sheet from 2000-2001, 2001-2002, 2002-2003, 2003-2004, 2004-2005.You must use the same year for both your concentration check sheet and your General Education check sheet.

| 4) I'm a Media Studies junior or senior, where do I go to for advising? |
4) A MSTD Junior or Senior is advised by the MSTD Dept. Look on the top of your Degree Audit. You should have an advisor assigned to you. If you are a Junior or senior who has declared their major as Media Studies, call 831-5531 and ask for an advisor to be assigned to you. |
| 5) I'm a Media Studies freshman or sophomore, where do I go for advising? |
5) As a MSTD Freshman or Sophomore, you are advised by the College of Arts and Sciences advising center. You can find out who your advisor here. You can reach them by calling 831- 6366. They are located in Young 103. |

10) IF there is room in a class you may be able to get the override. You must first get permission from the professor teaching the class you'd like to get into. Once you get a note from the professor go to Porterfield 188 and talk to the department secretary, Annette Lyle. |
| 11)Can I take a prerequisite concurrently with a course? |
No. You must take a prerequisite before you take the next class. |
